Registration consists of two parts:

1. Filling out the Form, and

2. Paying via the Pay Now Button on the Confirmation Screen

If requesting a scholarship, your reduced rate will be displayed.

Spartan Youth Basketball Association (SYBA) is an educational organization dedicated to developing better citizens by providing properly supervised basketball competition for 3rd through 8th grade players.

The objective of the local association shall be to provide competitive basketball through the development and operation of a supervised basketball program for 3rd through 8th grade youth residing in the North Fargo School District. This organization will seek to develop and promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence in the youth of this local. The supervisors shall bear in mind that the modeling of future adults is of primary importance and attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary.

There will be no use of any tobacco products, alcoholic products, or illegal drugs prior to or during any SYBA practices or games. Violation of this rule will result in immediate dismissal from the organization. This rule applies to players, coaches and managers.


Parents are reminded that if you have any concerns regarding registration, contact your Player Registrar. If you have concerns regarding the program at any time during the year, you are to contact the proper Board member. It will be their responsibility to discuss your concern with the Board of Directors as a whole and respond to you.


1. Parents should:

•Remember that youth are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment, not yours

•Encourage players to abide by the rules

•Teach their children that honest effort is as important as winning

•Try to turn defeat into victory by helping your child work towards skill development and good sportsmanship

•Recognize the value and importance of our volunteer coaches

2. Parents should not:

•Force an unwilling child to participate in sports

•Publicly question an official’s judgement or honesty

•Ridicule or criticize a player for losing or any other reason

•Condone physical or verbal abuse of players

3. If any parent/guardian is verbally or physically abusive to a coach, official, or player, his/her child may be suspended from the association. This decision will be made by the SYBA Board of Directors after a review of the situation.

I have read the parent’s code of ethics and agree with and will follow the terms and conditions addressed within the information.


I understand that Basketball is a physical game in which injuries can occur. To induce Spartan Youth Basketball Association to accept registration and permit my child’s participation, I, as parent or guardian, hereby give consent and agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless, its officials, coaches, officers and directors from any claim arising out of injury to my child. I further agree and consent to emergency treatment of my child or ward should such care be required.
